Why Is Resilience Important?

Coaching for Greater Resilience – Why Is This Important?

Resilience is being able to adapt and thrive, especially when we are under pressure or things don’t go as planned and at the heart of this is managing our emotions. Building resilience is key to helping us improve your health and well-being and leads to greater inner strength in managing our lives. When we are resilient, we are able to deal with all the ups and downs of life in a way that keeps us grounded, motivated and clear-headed and emerging from these challenging times often a stronger, more capable and wiser person. This doesn’t mean we don’t feel strong emotions when the going gets tough, but with awareness and understanding, we are able to recognise when we need to stop, take stock of what is impacting us and make better choices in line with what we really need in that moment.

Research suggests that resilience is not just about struggling with hard times (reactive) but also involves different areas of life such as improving our relationships, pursuing hobbies, making new friends, finding partners, taking risks and being more assertive in what you want (active) so you become determined to get more out of your life and build momentum on your success.
